Prepared by the Roofing Industry Committee on Weather Issues Inc. (RICOWI Inc.), in cooperation with Oak Ridge National Laboratory, this report provides a detailed, unbiased assessment of the performance of various types of roofing systems and assemblies during Hurricanes Charley and Ivan in 2004.

Data compiled on numerous buildings within each hurricane impact area focuses on roof slope, roof shape, roof system materials, edge conditions, installation details, and degree of deterioration, if any. Damage was described in detail and photographed to show important features. Where possible, points of initial damage were identified, and possible reasons for failure provided.
