Published by the Metal Construction Association (MCA), this Technical Bulletin discusses the sometimes noticeable waviness in the flat areas of metal roof and wall panels. The term for such waviness is “oil canning” and it’s inherent to light-gauge, cold formed metal products. Its causes are discussed, as are methods to minimize it.
