Hollow Structural Sections (HSS) offer several key benefits when used in construction. In addition to having a high strength-to-weight ratio, they also have excellent compression support and torsional resistance characteristics. They are also known to be attractive, uniform and easy to fabricate. The Steel Tube Institute of North America (STI) represents the North American manufacturers of HSS. The association has an extensive literature library that includes both technical data and product application case histories.
