In a study prepared for the Reflective Insulation Manufacturers Association (RIMA) by Charles W. Shabica, Professor of Earth Science, Northeastern Illinois University, a test was conducted to see if a reflective radiant barrier, installed over existing bulk insulation, could decrease heat loss in homes and commercial buildings. The test was performed using two buildings and infra-red thermography. This document explains the results.
