Published by the Steel Deck Institute, this white paper discusses form deck in terms of both traditional and alternative uses, and presents some of the engineering and experience that will affect design. Specifically addressed in the paper are deck forms for reinforced concrete slabs, insulating fills on form deck, and form deck used as exposed roofing (most often in walkways), shelving and draft curtains. There’s also information about calculating fire resistance for slabs with form deck and tips for determining engineering calculations.
