In 2007, Steve Sweat, a resident of Selmer, TN, decided to increase the size of his auto body shop. A challenge in making the addition was that the existing building was built 31 years earlier in 1976.
Sweat obtained the services of Memphis-based Liberty Building Systems to assist him in his shop’s expansion.
The result is a 2,400-square-foot addition that matches the existing structure completely. The exterior walls of the building are LibertyRib® in a tan finish and 8’ Polar White panels line the interior. Additionally, Liberty supplied Sweat with a 26-gauge Galvalume® LibertyRib roof with six integrated light panels.
“With a little thought and planning, you can tie an addition to an existing building without it looking homemade,” he explained. “This is a perfect example of that. It looks like it’s been there forever.”
To further enhance his building’s appearance, Sweat landscaped the entrance and installed coach lights on the exterior wall panels, proving there are ways to dress-up a metal building.
Sweat said he prefers metal buildings because of the quick installation and the clean appearance they provide.
