Decking Curved By Curveline Forms Toyota Dealership Canopy
At the newly constructed Reno Toyota (Nevada) dealership, a decorative canopy of curved B-deck panels tops off the building with a small but eye-catching accent. The curved canopy uses about 1,200 square feet of 20-gauge, unpainted galvanized B36 roof deck panels, manufactured by ASC Steel Deck of Sacramento, California, and then curved by Curveline, Inc. of Ontario, California. The structure is topped with vertical leg standing seam panels.
According to Martin Iron Works, Inc. of Reno, the decking panels installer, the curved canopy provided a simple and durable solution. Curveline’s proprietary process increases the strength of the panels, allowing for a virtually self-supporting structure using minimal framing. All of the canopy panels were of uniform 19'-11" length, further simplifying installation. The canopy also ties in aesthetically with curved aluminum screens that are mounted along the exterior walls of the dealership to break up the mass and provide a high-tech automotive look.
The project's general contractor was Q & D Construction of Sparks, Nevada. The canopy installer was Martin Iron Works, Inc., and the architect was Blakely, Johnson & Ghusn, Inc., both of Reno.
