Dri-Design Panels Accent Exterior Of New College Of Nursing
The J. Paul and Eleanor McIntosh College of Nursing offers a unique educational environment, created through a partnership between Northeast Community College in Norfolk, NE and the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing. The 44,000 sq. ft. facility houses all of Northeast Community College’s nurse and nurse aid programs plus the University of Nebraska College of Nursing’s undergraduate and graduate-level programs.
Approximately 3,500 sq. ft. of Dri-Design .080” aluminum panels finished in Silversmith were used to provide an impactful accent to the traditional masonry façade on the building. The patented Dri-Design Wall Panel System is a true dry joint, pressure-equalized rainscreen system requiring no caulk, sealants, gaskets or maintenance.
The general contractor on the project was Hausmann Construction, Inc., Lincoln, NE and installation of the Dri-Design panels was done by SGH, Inc., Omaha. “We installed segmented Dri-Design panels to create the large curved overhangs at three entrances to the building,” said Jeremy Zerzan, SGH project manager. “The greatest challenges involved integrating the continuous soffit vents at the curved entrances in order to make the venting seamless and integrating the Dri-Design panels with the numerous window sunshades. Dri-Design incorporated all of these details in the system design and the result is an outstanding finished product.”
Dri-Design panels are 100% recyclable and can be made from a variety of materials including zinc, copper, stainless steel and painted and anodized aluminum. Panels are available in any Kynar color and are sized and detailed to meet the specific requirements of each project. This cost effective system is Dade County and AAMA 508-07 approved.
About Dri-Design
Founded in Holland, Michigan in 1995, Dri-Design's signature product is an economically priced, 100% recyclable, pressure-equalized dry-joint rainscreen metal wall system that utilizes panels manufactured from PDVF-finished aluminum, anodized aluminum, zinc, copper, stainless steel, embossed stainless steel or titanium. Panels are offered in standard module sizes but can be produced in custom dimensions as well. Variations of the standard systems include the company’s Tapered and Shadow systems. Dri-Design also offers a revolutionary imaging technology which sculpts three-dimensional pixels into Dri-Design panels to reflect light and form images. The process can be used to create everything from hanging artwork to building-sized exterior murals. To learn more about the company's products, visit www.dri-design.com.
