Custom-Fabricated Aluminum Plate Panels Complement Hospital's Exterior
Loyola University Hospital in Maywood, IL, features four specialty units including Adult and Pediatric, Burn Intensive Care, Coronary Care, and Intensive Care services. The 176,000 sq. ft. hospital, which opened in Spring of 2008, is accented by .125” aluminum plate panels manufactured by Quality Metalcrafts, LLC.
More than 3,500 square feet of the custom-fabricated panels were utilized on the project to complement the other exterior materials on the impressive facility. The panels have a full-strength Kynar, post-painted finish to ensure a high-quality, long-term appearance. The finish was applied by Crystal Finishing using a Valspar Fluropon Classic II Gray, 399B714, color.
The architects for the hospital were Hellmuth Obata & Kassabaum, Tinley Park, Illinois, and Pratt Design Studio, Ltd, Chicago, Illinois. The general contractor was Pepper Construction Company, Tinley Park, Illinois. The installing contractor for the .125” aluminum plate panels was Chicago Heights Glass, Inc., South Holland, Illinois.
