Crimp-Curved Panels Add Visual Appeal To Hotel Canopies
The Holiday Inn Express hotel in Wauwatosa, WI, was recently provided with a new, updated look thanks to canopies topped with curved panels from Floline Architectural Systems.
The new canopies' panels, utilizing Floline’s 900 Series Panel formed from 22 gauge steel with a Kynar Silver Visulure II finish, were crimp-curved to a 37’-1 ½” radius and 25’-1 ½” radius.
Due to the complexity of the project (the leading and trailing edge of the upper and lower canopy designed as an ellipse) interaction between the installer and the Floline Design Team—working through the situational design complexities—was paramount.
“We were proud to use Floline Architectural Systems for this project. The end result was very appealing,” said Jason Dunnett, Project Manager, Weststar Commercial. “We would like to feature Floline in future projects.”
Jarratt Architecture, South Lyon, Michigan, was the project architect. Butler Street Iron Foundry, Chicago, IL, was the metal panel installer. The general contractor was Weststar Commercial, Chicago, IL.
