Star Building Systems Delivers Large Clear Spans Required For Pennsylvania Project
Located in Hatfield, PA, Bucksmont Indoor Sports is a 73,200 sq. ft. facility that benefited from the use of a custom metal building by Star Building Systems because of the project’s large clear span requirements.
The Star builder was Schlosser Steel Buildings, Inc., Hatfield, PA. The steel erector was Branning Steel Erectors, Inc., Souderton, PA. The engineer of record was Schlosser Steel Engineering, Inc., Hatfield, PA.
The building is covered by a StarShield Roof System with a Galvalume finish, along with MBCI’s BattenLok HS panels in a White color for the front entrance. Star’s StarMark Wall System was used in PBA-Blue color. Also incorporated into the structure is Star’s Long Bay Structural System. Completed in fall 2007, this indoor sports complex required large clear spans.
The front entrance utilized stucco for aesthetics, while the offices and party rooms utilized metal studs and drywall for warmth. This structure also utilized R19 insulation in the roof and R13 insulation in the walls to make the facility more energy efficient.
