Terrell, TX - Nucor Building Systems (NBS) has used its design expertise to construct a new 20 ft. tall band tower for Terrell High School. The project was recently completed and donated to the local school.
As an active member of the Terrell community, NBS was contacted by the school system to see if the company could repair its existing band tower. After assessing the structure, NBS offered to construct a new tower for the school that would be both long-lasting and aesthetically appealing.

“The project is part of Nucor Building Systems’ ongoing commitment to support the community,” said Tom Batterbee, general manager for the Terrell office of Nucor Building Systems. “The Terrell High School band tower is a great way to use our knowledge and resources to give back to the Terrell area and to our local high school.”
The company’s employees fabricated all the pieces of the structure, which includes an 8 ft. by 8 ft. platform for the band director. The entire tower was built using excess Nucor steel, which is part of a companywide initiative at Nucor Building Systems to reuse and recycle materials.
The tower is now complete and displayed next to the Terrell High School practice field. The structure will be used by the band director at future practices.
