Nordic Waterproofing Takes Over Roofing Operations Of The Lemminkainen Corporation

The Acquisition Includes RoofAquaGuard Products

Tuusula, Finland - It has been announced that Lemminkäinen has concluded the divestment of its roofing operations to Axcel, a Nordic private equity fund. The roofing business transferred to Nordic Waterproofing Oy on February 1, 2011. The business purchase agreement had been signed on December 15, 2010, and then received regulatory approval from the Finnish competition authorities.

The sale included the RoofAquaGuard, Kerabit, and Laatukatto trademarks. The European engineered Synthetic RoofAquaGuard Underlayment UDLX is enjoying increasing market share in North America for use with metal roofing. This is the original type of multilayer, “non-slip” underlayment presented to the U.S. and Canadian markets in 1998.

In conjunction with the acquisition, the new company has made the following appointment: Jaakko Tuominen, Managing Director. Juha Tuominen, Export Manager, will continue to be responsible for the sales in Canada and the United States.
