National Insulation Association Names New Executive Committee And Board Members
Reston, VA - The National Insulation Association (NIA) announces its new officers for 2011–2012, led by NIA's new President, Alec Rexroat. The new leaders and representatives assumed their responsibilities following a unanimous vote by the NIA membership at the organization's business session, which took place on March 24, 2011, at NIA's 56th Annual Convention in Tucson, Arizona.
NIA's new President, Alec Rexroat, is Vice President of M&O Insulation Company in Homewood, Illinois. He began his career in mechanical insulation in 1964 while attending Bradley University, working for the Luse-Stevenson Company in the field, then the warehouse, and then as a project manager and estimator. He also served in the United States Army Reserve from 1966 until 1972.
Rexroat started his own company in 1977 and sold the business in 1996. Also in 1996, Rexroat was elected as Executive Director of the Illinois Regional Insulation Contractors Association. While serving as Executive Director, he worked for a small mechanical insulation company as a project manager and estimator. In 2009, Rexroat was appointed Executive Director of the International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators Labor Management Cooperative Trust (LMCT), at which time he also joined M&O Insulation Company. He is currently involved in the Illinois Regional Insulation Contractors Association, the LMCT, and M&O Insulation Company.
The theme for Rexroat's year as NIA President is "Together We Succeed—Are You In?" His term will culminate in NIA's 57th Annual Convention at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Gainey Ranch in Scottsdale, Arizona, April 18-21, 2012.
Moving into the position of President-Elect is Rick Smith, CEO of E.J. Bartells. Secretary/Treasurer for NIA this year is Roger Crawford, President of Low Country Insulation, Inc., while David Dzina, President of Selle Insulation Co., becomes Assistant Treasurer. Also serving on the 2011–12 Executive Committee and Board of Directors is Immediate Past President Glenn Frye, Senior Vice President of Performance Contracting, Inc. The 2011–12 Executive Committee also includes Past President Advisors Peter J. Gauchel, President of L&C Insulation, Inc., and Chuck Schattgen, Vice President–C&I of Specialty Products & Insulation.
New to the Board, as an At-Large Representative, is Mark Duppler, Bay Industries, Inc. Other At-Large Representatives are Darrel Bailey, Performance Contracting, Inc.; Dan Bofinger, Specialty Products & Insulation; John Lamberton, Irex Corp.; Mark Reed, Zampell Companies; and Darryl Schimeck, Atlantic Plant Services.
Regional Board representatives are Joe Leo, Atlantic Contracting & Specialties, LLC, representing the Eastern States Insulation Contractors Association of America (ESICA); Steve Luse, Luse Thermal Technologies, Midwest Insulation Contractors Association (MICA); Roddy Davoud of Old Dominion Insulation, Inc., representing the Southeastern Insulation Contractors Association (SEICA); J. Kenneth Freeman, Petrin Corp., Southwest Insulation Contractors Association (SWICA); and Tim Stout, Hudson Bay Insulation Company, Western Insulation Contractors Association (WICA). The Central States Insulation Association (CSIA) representative will be determined at a later date.
