Firestone Energy Solutions Welcomes New Senior Sales Engineer
Varied Roles Will Include Providing Field Support For Sales Organization And Roofing Contractors Involved In PV Installation

Indianapolis, IN – Firestone Energy Solutions recently welcomed Michael Sexton as the company’s senior sales engineer. In his new role, Sexton will oversee the development of Firestone Energy Solutions’ in-house operations and services, PV product selection and roofing system design for PV applications. Sexton will also provide field support for the Firestone sales organization and roofing contractors installing PV on Firestone roofs.
“With over 50 percent of all solar power being installed on commercial rooftops, photovoltaics continues to be an important and growing market for Firestone,” said Gary Thompson, general manager for Firestone Energy Solutions. “Michael brings the skill, experience and enthusiasm needed to expand our company’s focus on our PV product offerings and better serve this emerging segment.”
Sexton most recently served as the single ply systems/accessories engineer for Firestone Building Products’ Roofing Solutions division. Prior to joining Firestone in 2008, he held a variety of technical and engineering positions involving roofing product and system research for multiple companies and government organizations including the National Research Council Canada (NRCC). Sexton also has prior experience in the rooftop photovoltaic industry, having prepared rooftop solar assessments, PV design layouts and financial modeling incorporating various available incentives.
Sexton holds bachelor degrees in biology and geology from St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia, Canada and environmental engineering from the British Columbia Institute of Technology, British Columbia, Canada.
