CRL’s 400 Series Rainscreen System Passes Important Seismic Test

Los Angeles, CA - In addition to passing the standard tests performed on drained/back ventilated panel systems, C.R. Laurence’s Architectural Metal Division 400 Series Premier Drained/Back-Ventilated Rainscreen Wall System has also passed the Seismic Horizontal Displacement Parallel Delta M Test. The announcement was made in late October, following testing conducted by Smith-Emery Laboratories in Los Angeles, California.
The 400 Series Rainscreen System is designed to protect buildings against harsh weather conditions in all seasons, accommodating expansion and contraction without warping and stressing the panels. The system’s design includes an optional inner aluminum panel system, which replaces the need for a weather-resistant barrier to be installed first. The inner aluminum panel is also more durable than conventional barrier products.

The 400 Series is available with panels fabricated from ALPOLIC® or Reynobond® aluminum and metal composite materials—manufactured by Mitsubishi Plastics Composites America Inc. and Alcoa Architectural Products, respectively. It is also offered with 1/8” aluminum plate panels. Panels are available with a variety of finishes including powder coat, Kynar® and Lumiflon® paint.
