Alucoil Purchases ACM Manufacturer Intrabond USA
Business To Become Alucoil North America
Manning, SC - Alucoil has announced its purchase of 100% controlling interest in Intrabond USA LLC, a North American aluminum composite material (ACM) manufacturer. The business will be operated under the name Alucoil North America.
According to a release on the Alucoil website, Intrabond USA LLC was purchased by Alucoil from the North American industrial group Intraco – a distribution group focused on automobile, glass, and building products industries. Intraco has a presence in the USA and Middle East with operating hubs in Michigan and Dubai respectively.
The Managing Director of Alucoil North America will be Samuel Chastain, an industrial engineer and formerly Global Marketing Director of a multinational manufacturer of aluminum building products. The new chairman and CEO will be Clemente González Soler, president of Grupo Alibérico and Alucoil.
Intrabond, located in Manning, South Carolina USA, began operations in 2009 and consists of a modern manufacturing facility with two ACM production lines. Close to the port of Charleston and major highways, the facility is strategically located to service the U.S. domestic market as well as import raw materials and export finished product to Canada, Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean.
Alucoil North America has a target market share of greater than 15% of the North American market over the next two years and will incorporate proprietary in house ACM production technologies and know-how from its plant in Miranda de Ebro (Burgos), Spain. The plant will manufacture standard ACM products as well as supplying specialty products such as Larcore, a new honeycomb panel manufactured by Alucoil in Burgos.
The ACM brand Intrabond will be migrated to the Larson and Alucoil brands and promoted heavily over in an intense marketing campaign focused on architect and design studios, as well as companies specialized in metal wall cladding.
This new Alucoil acquisition is part of an aggressive international expansion plan initiated in November 2010 with the opening of Alucoil Morocco in Casablanca, and continued with the establishment of Alucoil Do Brasil – where plans are underway for the construction of a new ACM plant in Barra do Pirai in the Rio de Janeiro state of Brazil.
