| Metallic Building Company |
 |

Metallic, a member of NCI’s network of companies, joins NCI in their stated corporate Green Mission and Vision. Metallic’s priority is to help its customers reach their green building project objectives by providing ideas, education and solutions.
Metallic offers cool paint colors for all of its metal roof panels. When used properly, considering the environment and the slope of the roof, a cool roof can reduce energy consumption, providing significant cost savings while helping to mitigate urban heat islands.
Many of Metallic’s cool colors meet the reflectivity and emissivity performance levels required by LEED and ENERGY STAR® to mitigate the cause of UHIs and energy consumption overall. Reflectivity is the deflection of solar energy from a surface. Roofs at 2:12 and greater have been proven to generate less of a heat island effect than lower-sloped roofs. Greater reflectivity abilities require less energy to cool a building.

| RoofScreen Manufacturing |
 |

RoofScreen Mfg. produces modular, bolt-together rooftop framing systems with leak-proof roof connections. The high-strength structural design allows fewer frames and attachment points, making it a perfect racking solution for solar arrays. Mounting solar panels on elevated racks has many advantages. Higher density per square foot of roof area can be attained because the system can be elevated above obstructions, and efficiency of the collectors increased because the racks can be adjusted for the optimal angle.
A by-product of the placement of solar arrays above the surface of the roof is that the collectors shade the roof surface and allows air to circulate over it, thus keeping the roof surface cooler and lessening the demands on air-conditioning units for interior comfort.
For more information about Roofscreen’s PV rack system, visit www.roofscreen.com, or email info@roofscreen.com.

|
| S-5!™ |
 |

The S-5-PV mounting kit is an ideal solution for mounting solar modules on standing seam metal roofs. One advantage to using the hardware is that it doesn't pierce the metal roof panels, so its use violates no provision of the roof warranty. Another compelling benefit relates to performance. Through their design, S-5-PV clamps secure the solar trays several inches above the roof surface. This results in a shaded roof surface and the creation of a plenum between the surface of the roof and underside of the PV modules. Tests have shown this mounting method can lower a roof's surface temperature by as much as 65 degrees. And a cooler roof means a more energy efficient building.
The S-5-PV kit is designed to work with machined aluminum S-5!™ Mini clamps. They'll last the life of the roof and are completely recyclable.

| Sealed "N" Safe® |
 |

With its introduction of an innovative patent pending Thermal Block System, Sealed “N” Safe® has paved the way for the next generation in metal building insulation systems. The Sealed “N” Safe Thermal Block System addresses the areas of greatest energy loss in conventional metal building insulation systems—at the points where blanket insulation becomes compressed between the metal roof and wall sheets and the roof purlins and wall girts during panel attachment.
Use of the Sealed “N” Safe® Thermal Block System in combination with ordinary fiberglass blanket insulation allows the concepts of continuous insulation to be achieved with typical screw down roof and wall applications. The system has been tested and found to meet new energy code requirements and aids in achieving LEED 3.0 requirements for Optimizing Energy Performance, offering points ranging from 1 to 19.
The patented, SNS Thermal Block System has two defining components: the Thermal Block and the Fastener. The thermal block is constructed of two galvanized metal plates with specially designed polyurethane foam injected between them. The fastener creates a “stitch” type joint between the sheeting and the thermal block, creating a watertight seal and fastening the whole assembly tightly to the purlin or girt. The assembling process is very much like a typical screw down roof. The only added step is setting the thermal block in place with two-flat head screws.
This system is designed to handle the normal vertical and horizontal loads applied in a typical metal building application. It also carries a Class A fire rating.
