Thermal Performance of Steel Stud Framing and Masonry Veneer

Provider: Owens Corning
Program Number: XPS03
Lu Hours: 1.00
HSW: Yes

Description: This program explains the thermal behavior of insulated steel stud wall framing using basic thermal performance calculation techniques to explain the concepts. After completion of this program participants will know the definition of thermal performance terms including "thermal bridging”. The climatic zones of the USA will be discussed and related to the continuous insulation (ci) requirements of ASHRAE 90.1 for steel stud wall framing systems. The pros/cons of calculation techniques for determining effective R-value will be reviewed and related to the energy efficiency benefits of "ci".
