Description: Retrofit Roof Systems discusses how various applications are great for retrofitting projects and how retrofit can be utilized for existing or new construction. Retrofitting a building offers key benefits including long-term performance, minimal maintenance expenses, improved energy efficiency, energy savings and beautified aesthetics.
Flat roofs commonly create problems because of their lack of ability to discharge rainwater effectively. This causes moisture build-up and possible leakage into a building’s interior. As companies grow, they often find the need to expand their facility frequently resulting in complex
roofing issues.
Retrofit roof systems create a sloped roof plane and are useful for low-slope or high-slope applications. Utilitarian, low-slope applications are barely visible from the curbside and ensure weatherability and long-term satisfaction. High-slope applications offer more architectural aesthetics and the ease of installation.
This presentation also qualifies as a course in which to receive Sustainable Design Credit by the AIA.The Retrofit Roof Systems presentation is available as both a one-hour presentation (NURF-1) worth one credit and a three-hour presentation (NURF-2) worth three credits.
