Description: This program uses case studies of buildings all over the country to focus on the options of retrofitting with metal roof systems. Whether considering retro-framing or a pre-engineered building retrofit, this unit will show why metal roofing is a viable solution. Supported by photography and high-quality CAD drawings, the presentation shows how metal can be used for architectural and structural applications, including metal shingle and standing seam. The unit takes the attendee through every step of the retrofit project and provides life-cycle costing comparisions between metal and other materials, including first costs, loan dollars, periodic maintenance estimates and future reroofing needs. And it addresses other retrofit considerations such as fire ratings, wind and uplift resistance, hail resistance and code considerations.
